Setup
Setup
- Navigate to the Enginius Suite
- Admin creates the users with the user’s Name and Email
- Enter your email
- Click “Sign Up”
- You will get an email notification to activate your account
- Open the email and click “ACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT”
- Now you are ready to get started!

NovaAI
At the top, you can see Dictionary, Documents, Tour, and Help
- Dictionary: Look up technical terms instantly with an AI‑built dictionary tailored to your organization’s language/terminology and domain
- Documents: Browse all public and private documents available in your knowledgebase for full transparency and accessibility
- Tour: Take the interactive NovaAI Tour to quickly learn key features like search, filtering, traceability, and AI insights.
- Help: You can navigate to our Help Support Center to understand features, workflows, and best practices anytime
Basic Search & Search Results – Start searching the knowledgebase
- Type “medical devices” in the search bar
- View the Search Results in the table below (sorted by relevance Score)
- Search Result: text that contextually matches your query
- Document Title: source document
- Type: document category
- Score: how closely the search result matches your query
- Try filtering and sorting your search results by column
Advanced Search – Control the scope and type of search results
- Click < icon for a Query Expansion
- This will generate related keywords and phrases based on what you are trying to search (context-based)
- Click the options that seem most relevant to what you are trying to search
- Check out the different Search Engine Options for advanced analytics
- AI Semantic Search: Finds text based on context and meaning
- Selected by default
- Simple Keyword Search: Finds text containing any entered keywords
- Click this and then click “Apply”
- Advanced Keyword Search: Finds text with logical conditions (AND, OR, NOT)
- Type “medical AND device”
- Type “medical OR device”
- Type “medical -device”
- AI Semantic Search: Finds text based on context and meaning
- Filters: See how your search results change by selecting different options for:
- Project
- Private Document Types
- Public Document Types
- Types of text to search (i.e. Paragraph, Bulleted List)
- Document Status
- Tailor your search results with a min word count and setting the number of results
- If you would like to save this search, click the save button
- To see if your search has been saved, clear the search by clicking X
- Click Advanced Search icon
- Click the dropdown under Saved Searches
- Click the search you just saved and then click “Apply” to rerun your saved search
- This will help you save time in redundancy of searches
- Click AI Semantic Search under Search Engine Options again to continue to see Nova AI’s full capabilities
Search Chatbot – Try interacting with Nova AI!
- Click the Chatbot icon to get started!
- View the AI summary of all your relevant documents
- Type a follow-up like “Can you explain use cases for pacemakers?”
- Try checking and unchecking specific results by row by using the checkboxes on the left
- This allows for full control over which sources the AI chatbot uses
- Default: results above 66% relevance
- Open the Chatbot again
- Click the Regenerate icon to regenerate the AI summary
- Notice how the summary differs from before based on your selections
Document Viewer – Check out the source document
- In Search Results view, open the Advanced Filter
- Make sure to use Al Enginius Semantic Search
- Under Public Document Types, clear all filters and click FDA Guidance (this document type will ensure to show PDF results)
- Click “Apply”
- Click View Details icon to view the source
- Open the Document Chatbot on the bottom right
- Reduce time spent reading by exploring the document information quickly using the chatbot
- No need to manually search in documents anymore, NovaAI does the heavy lifting
- View the AI summary
- Type in a follow-up question related to the doc
- You can use the summary to help you come up with questions
Database Viewer – Explore structured data with filters and criteria

- In Search Results view, open the Advanced Filter
- Make sure to use Al Enginius Semantic Search
- Under Public Document Types, clear all filters and click Clinical Trials (this document type will ensure to show database results)
- Click “Apply”
- Click View Details icon to view the database
- Try testing filters located on the right side
- g. For Status, type “Completed”, “Terminated”, “Unknown”, or “Withdrawn”
- g. For Study Type, type “Observational” or “Interventional”
- g. For Completion Date, choose date
- Click the Eye icon to view the source
- This ensures traceability and reliability of information
